Consider fabrication and installation
Coatings can be damaged by cutting, drilling, swarf, poorly stored panels or unsuitable handling equipment. Swarf should be removed promptly because loose metal particles can leave rust marks on the coating surface.
Cut edges need particular attention. Factory-applied coatings are not automatically continuous across every cut or drilled opening, so the detailing of laps, penetrations, eaves, verges and ridge areas is important.
